Description:

One of Windows XP™ system tools is "Disk Defragmenter,"  which can do a reasonable job of disk maintenance. Its main limitation is that it runs only in interactive mode and cannot be scheduled for automatic operation. A high desirability of disk maintenance is that it continues in background operation and can be scheduled at nights or periods of low computer usage. AutoDefragXP fits the bill. It uses an operating system internal utility to analyze and defragment selected hard drives, and it can be scheduled to run at user-specified times using a convenient link to the system's scheduler. 

Features:

• Performs safe disk analysis and defragmentation, using system utilities, which can be safely halted at any time.
• The user can select single or several drives to be analyzed and defragmented.
• A user-defined level of fragmentation can be set below which defragmentation is not performed.
• Can be run from the command line, in interactive mode, or automatic mode.
• Can be scheduled by a convenient link to the system's scheduler.
• Shows analysis and defragmentation progress.
• Includes documentation for useage
• AutoDefragXP keeps a log file of its activity so that the user can view defragmentation results.

KWare AutoDefragXP software (Copyright KWare 2003) is available as self-installing files for downloading for the Windows  XP operating systems:

Download for Windows XP: ADXP-Install.exe, (version 1.00.0000, 2.35 MB, 30 September 2003).
If you are updating KWare AutoDefragXP, you should uninstall it before reinstalling this newer version.
