Taurus New Moon
The New Moon on May 3, 2011 at 12 degrees 31 minutes of Taurus begins the lunar month that ends with a Solar Eclipse on June 1. Taurus is the second Sign of the Zodiac and the first in the element of Earth. It is one of the fixed Signs which means it can be willful and stubborn. Taurus is the Sign of resources, possessions and material, as well as spiritual, values. It has to do with our self-worth and our personal wealth. Possessiveness is also an inherent quality, as is good taste in things and food. This Taurus symbolism will be more important for all of us on some level during this lunar month. Taurus is the most fixed Sign of the Zodiac and together with the other 3 "fixed" Signs (Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius) is considered the "four pillars of heaven". The special symbolism can be seen on the famous Dendera Zodiac from ancient Egypt as well as in many Christian Churches throughout the world. They are symbolized by the Ox (Taurus), the Lion (Leo), the Angel (Aquarius) and (the ancient symbol for Scorpio), the Phoenix or Eagle. The Bible associates these four fixed Signs with the four Apostles, the four horsemen of the apocalypse as well as Ezekiel's heavenly vision.

Planetary Aspects The closest aspect to the New Moon is Saturn's quincunx. This 150 degree aspect has a 6th House and 8th House type relationship to the New Moon. This can mean that shared (8th House) responsibilities (Saturn) involving work or health (6th House) are tied to relationships or partners (Saturn in Libra). The Taurus New Moon puts emphasis on values, personal worth and financial concerns. Saturn is in Libra and the New Moon is in Taurus. Both Taurus and Libra are ruled by Venus. These Signs are therefore both tied to love, gain and the law of attraction. Venus is in the 12th House (from the New Moon) conjunct Mercury. Relationships and financial problems can be overcome with humility, compassion, understanding and communication. Mars conjoins Jupiter in Aries in the 12th House. This energy can be symbolized by a guardian angel of war. Egos are in overdrive. This warns of explosive actions that can cause self undoing. Physical strength, anger and arrogant attitudes can work against us now. This aspect can be positive when using your strength or energy to help others from behind the scenes. Volunteer work or serving the afflicted with humility, compassion and generosity is a positive effort that will be rewarded. Karma is at work when dealing with the 12th House.
Where Is Taurus In Your Life? We each have Taurus somewhere in our charts and therefore it is part of all of us. We all have the ability to attract or acquire, and we are all a little stubborn and possessive in some part of our life. Knowing your Ascendant and/or Sun Sign can reveal what area of your life will be affected by this Taurus New Moon.

There are two basic birth charts we look at in astrology. One is the solar chart and is based on our Sun Sign. This interpretation looks at everything from our individual Sun's point of view. Therefore, it gives a reading based more on the inner personality or "spirit". The natal chart is based on the degree of the zodiac on the eastern horizon at the exact moment and place of birth. This degree is called your Ascendant. This natal chart is earth oriented and based on the outer or physical personality. This chart is more helpful in dealing with "life here on earth". When looking at any "Sun Sign" type readings (like this), you should always look for your Ascendant (if you know it) as well as your Sun sign. If you don't know your Ascendant, drop me a note with your birth info (exact time, place and birth date) and I'd be glad to let you know for free.

ARIES - With the New Moon in your Taurus 2nd House of money and possessions, you are now in a "spend" cycle. This is a time for acquisition. You are apt to receive money or gifts throughout the lunar month, but you are also likely to spend money on valuable possessions like gold or jewelry. During this Taurus cycle, you may indulge yourself and your pantry with rich or expensive food. Aries people tend to be possessive about their possessions and stubborn when it comes to financial matters. You are more materially receptive now, but with Saturn in your opposite Sign, Libra, others may try to control your spending or attach rules to their gifts. TAURUS - The New Moon is in your Sign and therefore accents your 1st House for 28 days or so. You are apt to be more important in other people's lives. Your interest or expertise in Taurus things like fine foods and wine as well as items of refinery and value will likely make an impression on others. You are born with good taste and tend to express your personal worth and values in the way that you present yourself. Now is the time to enhance your looks with your pocket book. It's all about your face and your looks now. Spend some money on your appearance and the physical body. Health-wise, the accent is on the ears, nose and throat. GEMINI - The New Moon takes place in your 12th House which is the domain of the subconscious, the imagination and fantasy. It can be a time of deep introspection or escapist tendencies. It is often a time of separation, isolation or even hospitalization. The ears, nose and throat can be areas of concern. It is good to get off by yourself to meditate or pray now. Letting go of the material world and physical pleasures is part of this 12th House influence. Tune in more to your spiritual values. The accent is either on financial sacrifice or learning the true value of humility, compassion and understanding. The partner's work or health is important. CANCER - The New Moon in your 11th House means you will be drawn to Taurus experiences through groups, organizations and friends. Another way to look at this is that you naturally attract Taurus type people as friends. This indicates friends with money, friends who are stubborn, friends who have a lot of nice possessions. During this lunar month, you are apt to attend parties or social events with people who either have wealth or those who are into food related or luxury type activities. This is a great time for mingling with people in the financial world. Friends are likely to make important purchases or they could be a source of income for you. Children's partners are also Taurean in nature. LEO - The New Moon in your Taurus 10th House is all about honor, prestige and career. It is where we receive fame or infamy. You could receive awards or notoriety for Taurus type activities or experiences. For instance, you could be honored (or be infamous) for your wealth, your possessions, your values or your personal resources. Things ruled by Taurus will affect your popularity. This is a time to deal with professionals in financial world or doctors in the ears, nose and throat field. A guru or leader of some kind may be more influential in your life during this lunar month. On another level, you may be the guru or be known for your steadfast leadership abilities and your much valued professionalism. VIRGO - The Taurus New Moon in your 9th House accentuates the value you place on religion, philosophy, higher knowledge and freedom. Money may be earned from or spent on higher education, law and travel. Dream time can bring about a very personal philosophical awakening of some kind. This may involve ways of earning money. It would be a good time to get out and experience the value of nature or establish a real personal connection to your God. You may have a great desire to travel and a need for freedom now. Travel may require much money or other personal resources. In-laws or foreigners can be valuable or costly. LIBRA - Your Taurus ruled 8th House is the area of the chart that has to do with sharing and dealing with other people's resources. It is the Scorpio House of "sex, death and taxes". While these things are important, this 8th House has more to do with joining resources with someone else to create something that neither can do by themselves. Like procreation. On another level you are tuned in more to other people's stuff now. You are more sensitive and even psychic during this lunar cycle. You may find yourself joining forces with others in financial endeavors. You can combine your resources with others to accomplish more. SCORPIO - The Taurus New Moon occurs in your 7th House of partners. You naturally attract the Taurus energies from close personal relationships. This includes various "partners" in life - love, business or otherwise. This is a good time for social experiences that are sensual or luxurious in some way. Some of the most valuable things in life for you can come from a partner. This is a good time to socialize with money people. Partners can be a source of stubbornness but also of definite value now. You could even meet someone very rich and very special during this lunar cycle. SAGITTARIUS - Taurus rules your 6th House and therefore this New Moon accents service related activities and health. Money, values and self-worth influence your work experience for this lunar cycle. Co-workers or employees may seem more stubborn, but when this fixed attitude is focused in a positive direction, financial benefits can be achieved for all. On another level, personal health is more important for one reason or another. Taurus rules the ears, nose and throat. Problems with sinuses and the mouth are possible. Animals or pets can be expensive now. CAPRICORN - The New Moon is in your 5th House of recreation, creativity, romance and children. This means you may spend your resources on children, recreation or creative endeavors during this lunar month. Financial gambling and speculation also fit this Taurus influence. You may enjoy games of chance more this month and it wouldn't hurt to buy a lottery ticket. Children are likely to be important but may be costly. You are apt to be more possessive where children are concerned. They can be a source of great personal value. It is a good time to benefit from children or entertainment in the home. Get in touch with that artist or "child within" and for the next few weeks you could gain from your creativity. AQUARIUS - The 4th House represents our base of reality - It is our home, our security, our family, our past memories and the mother energy in our life. With Taurus here you are more in tune with the value of the "home base". Your mother may be a source of income or she may require your personal resources for some reason. Possessions and finances are tied to the home and mother. During this lunar month you may experience more expenses around the home. Domestic activities may bring financial security in some way. And of course with Taurus, stubborn tendencies and fixed attitudes are possible where parents or family is concerned. PISCES - The Taurus 3rd House represents our ability to teach, learn and find value in things of the mind. It brings out the intellect and the ability to communicate with others. There is a mental stubbornness in the way that you think. People in your life who are close, like siblings and neighbors also accent the Taurus side of life. They may be more materialistic, earthy and fixed in their ways. You can make or spend money through neighborhood activities. You tend to associate your self worth with your intellect and that is more evident now. This would be a good time to study or teach Taurus subjects, like agriculture, food preparation or money. You may hear or read more about these things during this lunar cycle. With Taurus here you may buy a car or spend money on transportation now. Taurus New Moon 2011
Ahmadinejad, Iran and the 12th Imam Iran's leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has set a date of August 22, 2006 to respond to the west's demand to cease his nuclear ambitions. As in everything that happens in the Middle East, dates are important and usually refer back to historical references. At least two important Islamic events correspond to this August 22 date. One is the festival of Lailat al Miraj which commemorates Mohammed's ascension from Jerusalem into heaven and the other was the great Muslim leader Saladin's capture of Jerusalem during the crusades. This may go right along with Ahmadinejad's belief that Israel must be destroyed and Jerusalem taken back. Since I am an astrologer, I also began to wonder if Ahmadinejad picked this date for astrological reasons. The next day, August 23, is the new moon at the 0 degree of Virgo. The new moon is a time for beginnings not endings. Ahmadinejad, like the Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and the powerful radical Iraqi religious leader Muqtada al-Sadr, believe in the Shi'ite prophecy of the 12th Imam. This is a "messianic" figure which will appear in the end times after great war and suffering to bring (Islamic) peace to the world - sounds kind of familiar, huh? Ahmadinejad, like many of our own right wing fundamentalist leaders, truly believe we are in the "end days" and what's worse seem to be trying to hasten its arrival. For years Ahmadinejad has been preparing for the return of the Mahdi (guided one). After he unexpectedly won the election for president in Iran, he spent 17 million dollars of the government's money to rebuild the Jamkaran mosque, which houses a well from which the Mahdi is supposed to emerge. While Mayor of Teheran, he rebuilt the boulevard that the "hidden Imam" is supposed to use when he returns. The real problem now seems to be that the Iraqi war has released the Shi'ite genie upon the world. This is not the genie of American TV and cute Disney characters. This is more like the traditional Islamic Jinn, whose highest level was called Azazel, the prince of darkness, or the Devil. The Shi'ites are a more radical offshoot of Islam and make up less than 20% of the Muslim world community. Most Shi'ites are in Iran, but since Iraq's "liberation" there is now a ruling majority in that country. While Saddam Hussein (a more moderate westernized Sunni) was not a nice person, he kept the Shi'ites under control, kept the radical terrorists out of Iraq and held a balancing act with his arch-old enemy Iran. The cork on the bottle was kept tight by Saddam, but thanks to the US and Great Britain, it has been taken off and lost forever. The Shi'ites are now taking over Iraq and will eventually align with Iran. Together with Iran, they just about tie with Saudi Arabia for having the largest oil reserves in the world. With the help of our government, the Shi'ites are definitely coming into their own time. For the west and moderate Islam, this is a worst case scenario - well, almost! Israel has now been tricked into attacking Hezbollah (Iranian backed Shi'ites) in Lebanon, something they said they would never do again. Hezbollah has hi-jacked the "Palestinian Cause" from Hamas (Sunni) and made it their own. As Israel blows up half of Lebanon trying to get to the Iranian backed Hezbollah, the Shi'ites are gaining more and more support from their traditional enemies the Sunni - not to mention Iraq, Kuwait, Syria and almost every other Islamic country in the region. Although the various sects of Islam have always fought like cats and dogs, they all have one thing in common. They all hate having the west invade their lands and their culture (as in the Crusades). Israel's birth in 1948 was a terrible blow to this autonomy and has been a thorn in their side ever since. Some of the Arab leaders have found ways (US dollars) to get along with Israel while the majority of their populations still hold a centuries old grudge. Thanks partly to the Bush administration's insistence on having a democratic middle east, we now see the terrorist group Hamas freely elected into power in Palestine, Shi'ites taking over Iraq with free elections and Hezbollah has become a political party in Lebanon. Something like Israel's invasion of Lebanon could easily "rally the troops" and bring all the various groups and sects together to fight their common enemy. The various Islamic groups that have already come to the aid of Lebanon (at least verbally) include the Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr offering to send 1,500 elite troops from his Mahdi Army militia. Al-Sadr gained power through the vacuum left when Saddam's regime fell. His Mahdi Army fought off the US troops successfully in Iraq, and these are also the guys who have been killing hundreds of Iraqi Sunnis in the current civil war. Iran supposedly has a million volunteers who are ready to come to the aid of Lebanon and Hezbollah. Even Osama Bin Laden's group, who is way out there on the fringe of Islam with their extreme fundamentalist Wahabi/Salafi/Sunnism, is offering to lend a hand to Hezbollah in fighting Israel. It won't take much to rally other Islamic countries to offer their help. Is this the beginning of WWIII, Armageddon, the end of the 5th world of the Mayans or the return of your favorite Messiah? Probably not, but things are sure lining up for some devastating possibilities. We do know that many of the leaders in the world today have messianic complexes and are actually expecting this scenario. Ahmadinejad gave a mesmerizing speech to the UN about the end times. According to Bush, God speaks to him and tells him what to do. His administration continues to use apocalyptic references like Condoleezza Rice's recent statement that maybe this war is the "birth pangs" of a new middle east. I just heard yesterday that Christian evangelist, Pat Robertson, is in Israel (probably expecting the rapture or the New Jerusalem any minute). He recently "held court" with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert during the most intense bombing of Lebanon and on the day that Israel said they were sending 40,000 more troops in. I hope Olmert's not actually listening to this kook. That's real scary! Robertson is the same one that said Olmert's predecessor was struck down with a coma because he talked "land for peace" with the Palestinians. This so-called Christian actually said the US should assassinate the freely elected leader of Venezuela. He ran for president a few years back and helped George W Bush get elected two terms. He is now working to get John McCain elected. Scary times. Last year Ahmadinejad said that he expects the12th Imam to return within 2 years. He most assuredly believes it is his divine mission to set the stage. Remember the stage - great war, suffering, etc. Also remember that on July 4th this year when the North Koreans were testing their new missiles, the Iranians were invited to watch. Remember, too, that the Iranians have lots of oil money (4th largest oil reserves in the world) and no nukes. The North Koreans have nukes but no money, no food, no oil - you get the picture. It's easy to imagine a little wheeling and dealing going on there between the last two in Bush's so-called axis of evil (remember what happened to their former "co-member", Iraq). Well, if Ahmadinejad is looking forward to "Armageddon" and sees himself as the Mahdi's enabler, then we probably should expect more excitement from this man.
Looking at the Astrology Ahmadinejad's birth info is posted on the internet, but the exact time is not known. What jumps out immediately from the solar horoscope is his Scorpio Sun conjunct Scorpio Neptune. This is a man with intense fantasies or intense spiritualism - probably both. He may tend to live in a somewhat insulated, isolated or fantasy-prone world. He is apt to fantasize about death and rebirth while his spiritual beliefs are also tied to death, destruction, resurrection and prophecy. Pluto rules his Scorpio Sun and Neptune. Ahmadinejad's Pluto (planet of WMD's, transformation, death and rebirth, eschatology, prophecy, etc.) is at 0 degrees of Virgo. The new moon on August 23 is at 0 degrees Virgo. If he was born around 7PM his Moon is exactly conjunct that degree as well! This somewhat ominous "coincidence" indicates to me that he knows his horoscope or has astrologers guiding him. At one point in the past he was reported as saying Iranians have had a lion's share in all the medical sciences, mathematics, astrology, arts, literature and engineering. Was that a slip, or does he know and use astrology? His Neptune closely sextiles his Pluto. This can mean opportunities for mass death, destruction and prophecy fulfillment through his fantasy filled imagination. With Saturn square Pluto, his efforts may be thwarted by neighbors or people close to him. His 10th house Uranus squares his Sun/Neptune conjunction which shows he will gain fame or notoriety from independent, rebellious or unexpected moves. He is a rebel and he receives his power from his rebel base. They, in turn, serve his deep desire to be an instrument of change, death & rebirth. Stay tuned and watch this man closely for the next several weeks (or years?). Phil 08/10/2006
Adam Yahiye Gadahn's Last Warning? Today on Sept 2, 2006 Ayman al-Zawhari, Bin Laden's second in command, released a video tape introducing Adam Yahiye Gadahn and urging viewers to listen carefully to his message, entitled: "An Invitation to Islam". Dressed in a white turban, the American born Gadahn says in English, "To Americans and the rest of Christendom we say, either repent misguided ways and enter into the light of truth or keep your poison to yourself and suffer the consequences in this world and the next". This is interesting because it has been reported that in the Muslim world Al Qaeda took a lot of flack for killing the "infidels" on September 11, 2001 without giving them a chance to repent and become Muslims. Recently kidnapped journalists from the Christian Science Monitor and Fox news have been pressured to become Muslim before they were released. On Sept 11, 2005 Gadahn came to the attention of the world when he announced on a video tape, "Yesterday, London and Madrid. Tomorrow, Los Angeles and Melbourne, Allah willing". At that time he was masked and went by the alias of Azzam the American. Could it be that his offer of conversion is a prelude to an attack on Melbourne or Los Angeles?
Looking at the Astrology A preliminary look at the chart of Adam Yahiye Gadahn reveals interesting "coincidences". Sept 2, 2006 is kind of like his coming out party. He was born Sept 1, 1978 in southern California according to his wanted poster. This means today's transiting Sun and Mercury and his progressed Moon are all conjunct his Natal Sun at 9 degrees Virgo. The last new moon at 31 minutes of Virgo was on his on natal Moon/Saturn/Sun conjunction. This is all very good for "face time" and for being a new authority on the world scene. He seems to have become Al Qaeda's official English speaking "talking head" and proselytizer. Numerologically, Gadahn is in a "9" Personal Year, which means his Mars and Pluto energies prevail this year. He was born with Mars and Pluto conjunct in Libra. His relationships (partners or opponents) are very deep, fiery and intense. This combination can lead to ruthless or fanatical type personalities. With Mars/Pluto in his 2nd solar house, these things apply to his attitudes toward justice and personal values. Mars is the god of war and militant type activities. It is also the planet of "face time". It is the ego and the "me" side of life. Pluto is the planet of death and destruction. George W Bush was in a "9" year in 2003 when he invaded Iraq. He also had his Sun progressing over his Mars. Mars seems to be an important connection between Bush and Gadahn. President Bush's Mars is at 9 degrees Virgo and therefore right on Gadahn's Sun. This indicates anger, hatred, violence or military action toward Gadahn from Bush. Gadahn's natal Mars/Pluto is on Bush's Moon/Jupiter which can indicate violence, destruction, conflicts and hatred brought close to home (large city?) for GWB. Age 28 Age 28 is a powerful time in everyone's life. It is normally a time of growth and transformation. Astrologically, Saturn returns to it's natal position and the progressed Moon returns to it's natal position. Numerologically our lives can be divided into 28 year cycles. The first 28 years is represented by the month of birth. The second cycle starts at age 28 and is represented by our day of birth. The last cycle starts at 56 and its symbolism comes from the year of birth. Gadahn was born 9/1/1978. This means he is leaving his first 28 year cycle which is a "9" and entering the second which means he will start becoming more "1" like. It makes sense that 2006 should be a personal "9" and 2007 will be a personal "1" year for him. Anyway, the first 28 years he's learned to confront or fight for his values and now over the next 28 years he will learn to become a leader and more self promotional. His Sun in Virgo is just beginning to shine if he can survive the wrath of GWB for the next couple of years. Phil 09/02/2006 |
