The Sublimation Murals and their Unruly Children
My interest in imagery that derives its source from myth,
personal identification and the subconscious are here explored in a very personal
manifestation. These paintings are not explanation but are about the intrinsic
ideas that are carried out within this framework. I use repeated symbols and
pictographs for I believe ”The depiction of symbols no matter how archaic”*
have a validity in their timelessness and universality. I am using my own
psyche’s cunning and creativity to loop back into my experiences that
preoccupy me and goad me on to a positive dismemberment of my malevolent animus.
*Gottlieb, A. and Rothko, M. (Letter to the New York Times 1943).
