Parking
Parking at the University of New Mexico is often a problem and a challenge. We
will
try to offer some tips for the new chorus member ("old" chorus members will
have solved the problem themselves).
-
There is a parking structure on campus at Cornell and Redondo Road (south).
They charge $1.75/hour and $1.00 for the first half hour except on "event"
nights when there is a flat fee of $7.
-
Getting a parking tag from University
Parking and Transportation Services
(277-1938) is another option. It will allow you to search for a spot in one of
the University lots north of Central Avenue.
-
You may wish to park in the North lot near Lomas and University (no permit
required) and
take the shuttle to the Fine Arts Center (but only on nights when there is an
event in Popejoy Hall).
-
If there is a big event in Popejoy Hall on chorus rehearsal night, nearby
parking is especially hard to find. Many people come an hour early on those
nights, park on a side street near Central Avenue and eat dinner in one of the
restaurants in the area before walking over to chorus. Use the link to the
Popejoy Hall Calendar for up-to-date information.

-
There are pay lots that are not run by the University on the
west side of University Boulevard a block or two north of Central and on both
sides of Cornell a block or two south of Central.
