The University Chorus is the oldest musical organization on campus with roots back to at least 1926. Not a traditional college choir, it is a unique mix of traditional students, faculty, staff and community members. This large choir of 140 voices has senior business leaders, doctors, scientists and retired people sitting next to professors, staff and UNM students, all united by their love of the great choral literature. This non-auditioned chorus is open to anyone.
It is time to look forward and consider how this historical musical partnership can serve the future needs of the community at large. We believe that those needs are:
To fulfill these important needs, we intend to:
That's where you come in. We need your help. If you love music already, understand its importance and believe in our mission, please send us a contribution. No amount is too small or too large!
If you are not a choral music lover but are concerned that our children will suffer from the serious school budget cutbacks in art and music, please send us a contribution.
If you feel you would like to help in a more direct or substantial way, please contact us so we can discuss how to do that.
Finally, if you have charitable intent and you would like to support our mission, please consider establishing a bequest or other legacy gift. Please call us to set up a time to discuss the various ways you can do that.
By today's standards, $300,000 is not a lot of money. However, in this case, a little will go a long way for the good of all New Mexicans.
Remember, no amount is too little or too large! Any gift will be greatly appreciated and used wisely.
Sincerely,
Bradley Ellingboe
