LANNY H. BEAR

Lanny Hawk Bear began working with Complexica in February 2001. He is an independent consultant in Santa Fe, working to make math and simulations as accessible as possible thru creative scientific visualization. He originally studied Math and Biology at William & Mary, where in 1979 he programmed a 2-d automata in Pascal. After a broad background in business and research, living in "the fun places," especially Santa Fe, he learned how to grow a business. The epiphany that PC's were more than typewriters led to a succession of jobs helping people configure, understand, and enjoy their computers, specializing in their creative use. He comes to us as an independent thinker and problem solver with an objective of understanding the complex system of our apparent world. From ecosystems to economics to the future, through the use of general systems theory, automata, group theory, agent based simulation and plain old math, he joins us in seeking to understand the flow of information. Lanny is also a practicing graphic artist doing relevant abstract art.
