Dear Parishioners:

I am becoming your pastor, offering myself to God along with all of you, as members of Holy Family Parish. I assume this commitment trusting in God's care for all his children and in each one of you, in your gifts and time, so together we can make real what the name of our parish means: a Holy Family at the heart of Chimayo and its missions.

This must be our hope and effort–to become what we already are in God's heart, "A family of families." Our model? The Holy Family of Nazareth, Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Our Church, Santuario, and missions, are the house of Mary and Joseph. Why? Because the house of Mary and Joseph welcomed Jesus, becoming the first church built up on earth.

This also must be our input to the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, in close communion with our Archbishop, Most Rev. Michael J. Sheehan, First Pastor of us all. As Catholics, we make of our church a house of prayer, of communion, of reconciliation, of solidarity, of learning, a place where the future is tasted.

From now on, I am at your service as your Pastor and brother in Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Pray for me as I pray for you. We can be certain that our prayers will join and move our hearts, bringing to our homes and parish the same consolation that the Risen Jesus brought to his disciples.

Peace be with you!
