| Orange and Blue - (summer 2005) This summer's quilt project was also at Pandy's Quilts and I made this alternating four patch lap quilt. I selected the orange and blue fabrics, cut the squares and sewed them together, and completed the quilt top. I then machine quilted it. | |
| Rag Quilt - (summer 2004) I took another sewing class for kids from Pandy's Quilts and this time we made a rag quilt. I selected all of my flannel fabrics, then sewed them into this pattern. I had enough squares left over to make a pillowcase also. | |
| Science Explosion - (summer 2003) In August, I took a children's class from the sewing shop in my town that taught me how to make a sampler quilt. I picked out fabrics that alll had some sort of science theme or that reminded me of something scientific. That is how I named the quilt. The quilt blocks that I learned to make are called, "Log Cabin," "Split Rail Fence," "Half-Square Triangles," "Double Four Patch," and "Secret Sawtooth Star." We used the book, "Kids Start Quilting" by Alex Anderson. I machine pieced the blocks, then tied the quilt. | |
| Nickel Quilt - (December 2002) When my mom got a new sewing machine, I set to work looking for scraps of fabric. I found some already cut into 5X5 inch squares. I then sewed them into a quilt. I added borders and machine quilted most of it (Mom finished the rest). |
