Windows 9x setup:

First thing that has to be done is to check and make sure your computer has the right components to connect to Cybermesa

Click on your Start Button, move your mouse up to settings and now click on control panel

Your Control Panel will come up. When it does Double Click on Network

Your Network screen will need three things Client For Microsoft Windows, Dial up Adapter and TCP/IP (might even say TCP/IP -> Dial Up Adapter)

Everything else may be ignored

You will need to Double Click on TCP/IP

You might get a box that looks like this

Just click ok then you will need to make sure the settings are correct. You will see this screen first

Make sure the dot is in Obtain IP address automatically

Click the WINS Configuration Tab

Make sure all the boxes are empty and the check is in Disable WINS Resolution.

Then Click the Gateway Tab

Make sure this is completely blank, nothing in the boxes at all.

Now Click the DNS Configuration tab

Here all the boxes must be empty and the dot in Disable DNS

Then you will need to click ok

Click ok again.

Your computer will ask to be restarted when that happens click on yes to restart.

Once your computer has re started we will now get your computer configured to connect with us

Click on Start go to Settings and Click on Control Panel

In the control panel Double Click on Internet Options

When Internet Properties comes up click on the Connections tab

Click on Setup

This will bring up the Internet Connection Wizard

When it comes up move the black dot to the third option that should read I want to set up my Internet connection manually.

Then Click Next

Make sure the dot is in I connect through a phone line and a modem

Click Next

Make sure the Area Code is in the box that says area code.

Then put in the local dial up number that we provided you in the box that says Telephone Number

(Please DO NOT put in your home phone number or our Tech Support number)

Then uncheck the box that says Dial using the area code and country code.

Click Next

Put in Your username and password

Usernames are all lowercase

Passwords have a capitol or a number in it

Click Next

Erase connection to phone number and type in Cybermesa

Click Next

Put the dot in Yes when it asks if you want to set up an Internet mail account now

Click Next

You might get one of two screens, depending if you have used a previous Internet Service Provider (ISP) before or not.

If you have used another ISP before you will get this screen.

Make sure you put the dot in create a new Internet mail account

Click Next

If you have never used another ISP before then you will get this screen.

Here you will type in your full name.

This is a caller ID of sorts for e-mail, if you want your name to be seen with capitals then please use them.

Then Click Next

Put in your E-mail address with us.

That will be username@cybermesa.com no capitols or spaces please

Click Next

At the top of this screen should read my incoming mal server is a POP3 server

In those two long boxes you will need to type Incoming pop.cybermesa.com and outgoing smtp.cybermesa.com. No spaces or capitols.

Click Next

Your username should already be in the box. If not please type it in. along with your password in the following box.

You can also have your computer remember your password so you don’t have to type it in every time you connect with us. If you want that option please put a checkmark in remember password.

If you would rather type in your password every time please remove the checkmark from the box that says remember password

Leave log on using Secure Password Authentication unchecked

Click Next

Now you can leave the checkmark in to connect immediately if you want to connect right away. If not please remove the checkmark.

Click Finish

Your computer is now configured to connect to the Internet. Have fun and enjoy yourselves.
