PURPOSE The purpose of this
position is to implement the parish’s commitment to
quality youth ministry in a comprehensive manner. This includes the
elements of
catechesis, spirituality, liturgy, evangelization, social advocacy,
community
building, and counseling by presenting the Catholic faith to our youth
drawing
on the LIFE TEEN Model and encouraging their growth through the study
of and
participation in scripture, prayer, fellowship, and service.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
Must be deeply committed to the

Lead & plan summer programs and
retreats
Organize service projects and fun
activities for Confirmation students and jr/sr high youth
Provide administrative support, such
as filing, mailings, researching and data entry
Prepare & manage youth budget
Lead and plan fundraisers
GENERAL DUTIES Under general direction
from the lead deacon and parish priest,
fully operate a youth ministry for grades 9 through 12, and assist with
fun
activities for 7th and 8th graders. Direct, plan, &
teach (as needed) the Pre- and
Confirmation programs and other youth gatherings under the Life Teen
program. Coordinate the annual
youth trips to Honduras,
Catholic Heart Work Camp, and Steubenville Conferences, and annual
service
projects like the Living Stations of the Cross and Angel Tree Christmas
gift
gathering and distribution.
Coordinate annual
confirmation and other necessary retreats.
Form and nurture a core
team of adult sponsors to assist
with the various weekly Life Teen and Confirmation classes and conduct
meetings
as required.
Prepare and execute
budget for all youth related activities,
prepare and present budget to finance committee, track, and log
expenses.
Form relationships with
area youth leaders to partner and
conduct activities with them.
Inform teens and parents
about events and requirements via
email, snail mail, and phone.
Be able to perform at a
high level of accountability with
minimal guidance from pastoral staff.
Perform other duties as
required by Priest and or lead
Deacon.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS College graduate;
Applicant must be a
full, active participating adult of the
Catholic Faith in good standing with the Church and must be committed
to the
interior life and centered on the Eucharist.
Minimum 21 years of age
(Church insurance policy);
One year as youth
minister, three years as Core member, or
equivalent credentials (may be waived with adequate theological
training)
Proficiency with
Microsoft Office, Word and Excel;
Ability to form a good
working relationship with youth,
parents, clergy, and church staff;
Possession of or ability
to obtain all necessary required
diocesan youth certifications within first 30 days of employment; Possession of or ability
to obtain valid drivers license
within first 30 days of employment;
Demonstrated ability to
prepare a fiscally responsible
budget for the program;
Demonstrated
trustworthiness with money and youth;
Aptitude to teach on the
Theology of the Body, the history
salvation throughout the Bible, and Catholic Apologetics topics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Post-graduate Class work
involving youth, young adult
ministry, counseling or other related field;
Life Teen training;
Experience with
Microsoft Publisher and Quick Books. SALARY AND BENEFITS Consistent with
